Rajeev College of Nursing

Bachelors in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing)

The programme is designed:

  • to provide a balance of professional and general education and
  • to enable a student to become a professional nurse practitioner who has self-direction and is a responsible citizen.

Graduates of the programme are prepared for beginning level positions in community and institutional nursing service and have the foundation for continuing professional development and for post-graduate study in nursing.

Course of Study: The course of study leading to Bachelor of Nursing (Basic) degree comprises of 4 academic years.

10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in qualifying examination.

Completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete this age on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission.

Masters in Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing)

Candidates may choose any one of the branches of study at the time of admission :

  • Branch I - Medical Surgical Nursing
  • Branch II - Community Health Nursing
  • Branch III - Paediatric Nursing
  • Branch IV - Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing
  • Branch V - Psychiatric Nursing

Passed B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) or Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing degree or Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka (RGUHS), or any other university accepted as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.

Must have obtained a minimum of not less than 55% aggregate marks.

Minimum of one year of experience after obtaining B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) or Minimum of one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree or Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing in a hospital or in Nursing Educational Institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (P.C.B.Sc. Nursing)

Hold a diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

Be a registered Nurse.

No candidate who is above 48 years of age of 31st December of the year of admission shall be eligible

School of Nursing

General Midwifery Nursing (G.N.M.)

Duration : 3.5 Years

Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years respectively. For ANM/LHV, there is no age bar.

10+2 class passed or its equivalent subjects with aggregate of 45% marks.

Those who have cleared 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

ANM training i.e 10+1 1/2years training should also have passed +2 or its equivalent.
